Peru, the ancient home of the Incas and the legendary city of Machu Picchu, is the modern day home of alpacas and those wonderful sweaters made from their wool. It is also the home of excellent coffee.

About this variety

Our Peruvian Pinachi fair trade, organic bean grown at altitude on the slopes of the Andes, and is like a cross between a Central American coffee with its bright acidity and a South American coffee in it’s flavor.

In the cup, you’ll be treated to a coffee with a refreshing, light body – perfect for a mid-day pick-me-up or with a light dessert. You’ll pick up on a slight sweetness, with hints at herbs and chocolate, and a typical South American nutty coffee flavor. On one sampling I picked up on a slight pear flavor, but it was exceedingly subtle. A mellow, smooth cup at the lighter end of the spectrum for body.

Our Peruvian Pinachi is a lighter roast to preserve its smooth, refreshing light body.
