Ethiopian Harrar Organic, Fair Trade Coffee

Ethiopia, the birthplace of coffee hundreds of years ago, when a goatherd noticed the stimulating effect on his goats after they nibbled on coffee plants. Fact or fiction? Who knows for sure, but coffee trees have been a part of the environment of Ethiopia since time immemorial, and it is from Ethiopia that they have spread out across the globe.

About this variety

Our Ethiopian Harrar is an organic, fair trade from the very same highlands where our friend the goatherd lived. In fact it is probably about as close as is possible today to coffee as it originally was centuries ago. Every sip is like a taste of history. Our beans are produced in a bird-friendly manner by indigenous farmers.

In keeping with its ancient nature, our Ethiopian Harrar has fascinating and complex flavor profile that rivals any fine wine. You'll be treated to not too subtle spiciness, fruitiness, with suggestions of chocolate, citrus, and anise. It's bouquet is equally complex. As it cools, it begins to reveal a different, but no less complex flavor profile, making it a good choice for iced coffee. An adventurous cup, from an adventurous continent.

Our Ethiopian Harrar has a medium roast to let all its complexity and character flourish.
