About this varietyOur El Salvadoran San Mauricio beans are an example of the resilient spirit of El Salvador. In a country whose coffee industry was nearly destroyed by civil war, a cooperative of small farmers has struggled valiantly (and successfully I might add) to resurrect the industry, production facilities and farms from the ashes (quite literally!). Truly a “feel good” story if there ever was one.This coffee is not only a sentimental favorite amongst ourselves and customers, it's a favorite in the cup. It has a clean, crisp, nutty flavor, with a slight touch of chocolate. Like most Central American beans, El Salvadoran San Mauricio best shows off all its delicious qualities with a medium roast, which is how we offer it.
